Scheduling
The office is open Monday through Friday
from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. If you have an
emergent situation or are in severe pain we
will make every attempt to see you
immediately. Dr. VanHoose provides 24 hour
emergency care. Tuesday and Wednesday
afternoons are typically reserved for
hospital surgeries. When calling our office
and scheduling an appointment, we will
review all pertinent information with you.
IMPORTANT
If you are planning on going to sleep for
your surgery, make sure you have nothing to
eat or drink for 6 hours prior to your
appointment. All patients under the age of
18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal
guardian. This escort is expected to remain
in the office during your appointment. Also,
you will need to arrange for a responsible
adult to drive you home and someone who will
take care of you that night.
Consultation
Your first appointment may consist of a
consultation only which will give you an
opportunity to meet the doctor and review
the proposed treatment. At this appointment,
the doctor will explain your diagnosis and
treatment options. If you prefer the
consultation may be completed on the day of
surgery for your convenience. If you have a
complex treatment plan or an extensive
medical history, a second appointment is
usually necessary in order to provide the
best care.
At the time of your consultation, you can
assist us by providing:
1. Referral slip from your dentist or
orthodontist
2. Recent X-rays (panorex less than 1 year
old)
3. Medical and Dental cards and information
4. Alert staff of any medical conditions
that need pre-op attention
* artificial heart valves or prosthetic
joints
* blood thinners (coumadin, plavix, aspirin)
* need for antibiotics
